SERGIO MORENO
Sergio Moreno, 60, of Laredo, TX sadly left us on February 6, 2023 following his battle with cancer.
A life-long resident of Laredo, Sergio was born on December 28, 1962.
He is preceded in death by his father Rafael Moreno Sr., his brother Rafael Moreno Jr., & his nephew David Rivera.
Surviving him is his wife, of 31 years of marriage, Mary G. Moreno, his children Ignacio Alberto (Cesi) Ramirez Jr., María del Rosario Moreno, and Anna Isabel (Sergio Garza) Moreno, his grandchildren Adrian Obregon and Fabian Obregon Jr., his mother María del Carmen Moreno and his sisters, María del Carmen Rivera and Christina (Jesus) Corona, as well as several nieces & nephews.
Sergio graduated from Martin High School in Laredo in 1981. He then graduated from South West Texas State University in San Marcos, TX in 1986. He began his career with the Laredo Police Department in 1986. He finished his career with them as an Internal Affairs Investigator in January of 2009. He then continued his career in several agencies including the TAMIU Police Department and the Laredo Sector of ATF.
His family would like to thank Laredo PD, TAMIU PD, and the Laredo Sector of ATF for their unconditional love and support for Sergio and his family. The family would also like to thank the ICU staff at Doctors Hospital in Laredo, the 5th floor and ICU staff of Northeast Methodist Hospital in Live Oak, TX, the ICU staff of Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX, and all his friends and family who helped him on his final days. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 10, 2023 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment followed at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
PALLBEARERS WERE: Sergio Tijerina, Victor Tijerina, Guillermo Delgadillo, Antonio Moreno, Jesus Corona, Miguel Corona, Ramon Mendez and Esteban Rivera.
HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Ignacio Ramirez, Cesi Ramirez, Maria del Rosario Moreno, Anna Isabel Moreno, Sergio Garza, Adrian Obregon, Fabian Obregon Jr. and Victor Jesus Cruz.
