Obituary

Silverio Sanchez Jr., 81, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at a local hospital. Mr. Sanchez was born in Laredo and had been a resident here all of his life. He enjoyed fishing, cookouts and being with family and friends. Mr. Sanchez, enjoyed being with his grandchildren and was happy and loving person. He will be dearly missed by his family, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Silverio Sanchez, Sr. and Teofelia Sanchez also by his brothers Frank "El Piloto" Sanchez, Alfredo Sanchez, and his sister, Guadalupe Tapat, Virginia Viera, and his daughter, Veronica "Ronnie" Sanchez. He is survived by his sons and daughters, Silverio Sanchez III, Martin Sanchez, Jorge L. (Erica) Sanchez, Sylvia Sanchez, Patricia A. (Alex) Gonzalez, and Mary Jude (Carlos) Mendiola. He is also survived by his brothers Arturo (Maria Elena) Sanchez and Roberto (Gloria Alicia) Sanchez. Also, his grandchildren, Amanda Lee Sanchez, Enrique Garza Jr., Mateo Sanchez, Kayla Sanchez, Kelssy A. Mendiola, Jorge L. Sanchez Jr., Jessica Gomez, Jennifer Gomez, Jaqueline Gomez, Jazmin Lopez, Andrew Perez, Refugio Perez Jr. and several great-grandchildren. Also, several nieces, nephews, relatives and many other friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
