Obituary

SISTER JOSEFINA MARTINEZ
Sister Josefina Martinez, (best known as Sister Reina) born on March 12, 1920, in La Havana, Cuba,  "Servant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Poor," was called by the Lord on Sunday, October 23, 2016.
Sister Josefina was dedicated to her religious order for 67 years. From 1997 through 2016, Sister Josefina served as a member of the Sacred Heart Children's Home in Laredo. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Martinez, mother, Evarista Garcia and her only brother, Miguel Angel Martinez.
On behalf of Sacred Heart Children's Home, our gratitude and prayers to Dr. Milton Haber, Global Nursing Personal, Nurse on Wheels of Laredo Hospice Personal, Mrs. Luz Maria Chapa de Garza and Anita Garcia who looked after her care.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sacred Heart Children's Home Chapel, 3310 South Zapata Highway. A convent rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at the children's home. Funeral services will begin Wednesday, October 26, 2016, with Holy Mass celebrated at the Sacred Heart Children's Home. Interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
