SIXTO MARTINEZ JR.
Sixto Martinez Jr., 84, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 in Laredo, Texas.
Mr. Martinez was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Martinez was a veteran of the United States Army and was duly decorated with the Sharpshooter (Rifle) Medal, Expert (Rifle) Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sixto and Carmen Martinez.
His beloved wife, Armandina E. Martinez.
Brothers, Roberto Martinez, Carlos Martinez and Alfredo Martinez.
He is survived by his daughters, Laura Bogue (Timothy Everett) and Cynthia Martinez.
Sisters, Juanny Gutierrez.
Man's best friend, "Benny".
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
The Family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Mr. Martinez's caregiver, Altagracia Orozco, for the special care she provided.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 23, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Committal services with full military honors will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery-Veteran's Section.
