Socorro Garza San Miguel, 88, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Mrs. San Miguel was born in Monterrey, Mexico and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fructuoso San Miguel Jr.
Parents, Victoriano and Emilia Garza.
Daughter, Rita San Miguel and Andrea San Miguel.
Son, Fructuoso San Miguel III.
Brother, Victoriano Garza.

She is survived by her children, Sergio Arnoldo (Mercedes) San Miguel, Eduardo (Brenda) San Miguel, Teresa (Peter) Cantu, Oscar San Miguel and Alberto (Gloria) San Miguel.
Rudy Del Cid , whom she raised as her own son.
12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Sister, Rita Garza-Cid.

Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Holy Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 10 a.m.. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
