Sofia Salazar Castaño, 87, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Mrs. Castaño was born in Lampasos, NL, Mexico and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Rebeca Salazar.

Her beloved husband, Castulo Jaramillo.

She is survived by her children, Roberto (Sylvia) Jaramillo, Esperanza Jaramillo, Rosa Maria Jaramillo, Yolanda Jaramillo, Juana Isabel (Victor) Castilla, Adriana (Roy) Hill, Norma (Marcos) Reyes, Juan Jose Jaramillo, Raul (Flor) Jaramillo and Luis Ernesto Jaramillo.

35 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Sisters, Rebecca Salazar, Concepcion Salazar, Guadalupe Salazar and Consuelo Salazar.

Brothers, Juan Salazar, Ricardo Salazar and Gilberto Salazar.

Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.

Following the ordinance by the State of Texas, visitation will be limited to 40 people inside our funeral home.

It is preferred for minor children not be allowed to attend services.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased, officiated by Rev. Deacon Leonard Aguillon, will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. A Liturgy of the Word, officiated by Deacon Aguillon, will be officiated at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2021. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
