SOFIA C. MACIAS Sofia C. Macias, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Macias was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years of marriage, Alfredo Macias Jr. who passed away in 2001. Her daughter, Alma Rosa Macias Torres who passed away in 2007. By her parents, Agustin Mendoza and Margarita R. Mendoza. By her brothers, Eugenio Mendoza, Bonifacio Mendoza, Juan Mendoza, Miguel A. Mendoza and Pedro Mendoza. She is survived by her sons and daughter, Alfredo (Elva P.) Macias III, Sara A. (Jose R. Padilla) Cisneros and Gerardo Macias Sr. Sister, Jesusita M. Gil. 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Laredo City Cemetery.
