Sostenes R. Palomo Sostenes R. Palomo, 88, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at a local hospital. Mr. Palomo was born in Pawnee, Texas and had been a life long resident of Laredo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Patricio and Agripina Palomo, By his loving wife, Celestina Palomo, by son, Eulogio Palomo and also his brothers and sisters, Brigido (Juana) Palomo, Saturnino Palomo, Carlos Palomo, Isabel (Claudio) Presas and Maria Luisa (Antonio) Solis. He is survived by his 5 children: Sostenes (Emma) Palomo, Jr., Ramon (Magdalena) Palomo, Rosa Elvia (Pedro) Hernandez, Alberto (Jan) Palomo and Armando (Maria) Palomo, His 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends. Mr. Palomo was a member of "El Santo Nombre" an organization at San Luis Rey Church that assisted the church for many years. He also sponsered a group of Matachines for San Luis Rey Church for over 5 years. The family would like to offer a special gratitute to Dr. Rafael Mangual, MD., the nurses and staff at the Laredo Medical Center for the care given to Mr. Palomo. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November, 3, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez & Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at the San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
