Obituary

TERESA DE JESUS ARCE

Teresa Arce, 91 devoted daughter, beloved sister, aunt and educator passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Teresa dedicated her life to education.  She was known to teach with a firm but loving hand. Teresa began her career at St. Peter's Parochial school and followed the Salesian sisters to her alma mater, Mary Help of Christians school.  She was so proud of being an integral part of a great team of early childhood educators.  Teresa was a gifted teacher who taught all her "kids" to read and more importantly the love of books. She often bragged that she taught most of Laredo how to read.  She was always so proud of her ex-pupils and their accomplishments.

Teresa was a twin to her beloved sister, Cecilia Minerva.  While Cecilia was quiet and reserved Teresa was loud and outgoing.  Teresa never met a stranger.  She forged life long friendships that she cherished until her passing.  Through out her life, she loved to travel and she made any trip fun!

Teresa was devout catholic and an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  She lived her faith through devotion and charity.

Teresa is now reunited with her beloved twin, her mother and father.  She will be terribly missed, but heaven has gained a faithful, loving servant.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Eulogia F. Arce, father, Eugenio A. Arce, and her twin sister, Cecilia Minerva Arce.
