TERESITA DE JESUS ARIZMENDI CORTINAS
Teresita de Jesus Arizmendi Cortinas, 68, was called upon by Christ Our Lord, on Saturday, September 24, 2016 in Laredo, Texas.
Mrs. Arizmendi Cortinas was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps., Mexico and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.
Teresita "Mama" Cortinas was the most amazing, spiritual, energetic, daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. Teresita had a passion for gardening, however, her most precious pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them rotten. She lived life to the fullest, never taking any moment for granted. She demonstrated this until the very end. If she could say one last thing, we imagine she would say something like, " I haven't really left you, even though it may seem so. I've gone to my heavenly home and I am closer than you know."
She is preceded in death by her mother, Soledad Arizmendi.
Her father, Filiberto Arizmendi.
Sisters, Martha Arizmendi and Ana Maria Lozano.
Brother, Carlos Arizmendi.
Blessed to share her memories and carry on her spirit are her loving husband, of 45 years of marriage, M. Herman Cortinas.
Daughter, Darleen (Gerardo) Hinojosa.
Son, Herman (Rebecca) Cortinas.
Grandchildren, Gerardo (Zyomara) Hinojosa, Korina Hinojosa, Abeleen Hinojosa, Analie Hinojosa, Victoria Cortinas and Ethan Cortinas.
Brothers, Filiberto (Martha) Arizmendi and Jaime (Terry) Arizmendi.
Sisters, Enriqueta "Queta" Arizmendi, Carmela (Jesus) Solis, Evelia (Leon) Valdez, Gilma (Omar) Gomez and Magdalena Arizmendi.
Also surviving her are cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
