TOMAS RODRIGUEZ GOMEZ

Tomas Rodriguez Gomez, 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Mr. Rodriguez was a loving father, devoted family man, and lifelong baseball enthusiast. In 1964, he proudly played professional baseball for the Diablos Rojos de Mexico in the Mexican Professional Baseball League. He was also a successful entrepneur who owned and operated Rodriguez Painting for many years. He had a passion for painting, remodeling, and transforming homes taking great pride in his craftsmanship and hard work. Later, he dedicated 16 years of service to United Independent School District. Facilities Maintenance before retiring. He will be rmembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, love for his family and passion for baseball. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anacleto and Carmen Rodriguez. Sister, Graciela Rodriguez Sosa.Brother-in-Law, Jose Luis Sosa.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years of marriage, Guadalupe B. Rodriguez.Children, Tomas (Sandra Alvarez) Rodriguez, Oscar (Cynthia) Rodriguez and Magali Rodriguez.Grandchildren, Christopher Alvarez and Allyson Rodriguez.Beloved pet, Pinky Rodriguez.Siblings, Juan Antonio (Norma) Rodriguez and Jacinto (Maria) Rodriguez.

Also surviving him are nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a vigil of the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services will be held on a later date.

El Sr. Rodríguez fue un padre amoroso, un hombre dedicado a su familia y un apasionado del béisbol durante toda su vida. En 1964, jugó con orgullo béisbol profesional para los Diablos Rojos de México en la Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. También fue un empresario exitoso que fundó y dirigió la empresa Rodriguez Painting durante muchos años. Sentía pasión por la pintura, la remodelación y la transformación de hogares, y se enorgullecía enormemente de la calidad de su trabajo y de su esfuerzo constante. Más tarde, dedicó 16 años de servicio al Departamento de Mantenimiento de Instalaciones del Distrito Escolar Independiente United (United Independent School District) antes de jubilarse. Será recordado por su gran ética de trabajo, su corazón bondadoso, el amor por su familia y su pasión por el béisbol. Su legado perdurará en los corazones de todos aquellos que lo conocieron y lo amaron.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Anacleto y Carmen Rodríguez; su hermana, Graciela Rodríguez Sosa; y su cuñado, José Luis Sosa.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa durante 55 años de matrimonio, Guadalupe B. Rodríguez; sus hijos, Tomás (Sandra Álvarez) Rodríguez, Óscar (Cynthia) Rodríguez y Magali Rodríguez; sus nietos, Christopher Álvarez y Allyson Rodríguez; su querida mascota, Pinky Rodríguez; y sus hermanos, Juan Antonio (Norma) Rodríguez y Jacinto (María) Rodríguez.

También le sobreviven sobrinos, otros familiares y muchos amigos.

Visitacion se llevara a cabo el domingo 5 de julio de 2026, de 4:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m., y se celebrará una vigilia a las 7:00 p. m. en la funeraria Hernandez, Lopez and Sons (Northside Chapels), ubicada en el 800 de Boston St., sobre la avenida San Bernardo. El cortejo fúnebre partirá de la funeraria el lunes 6 de julio de 2026 a las 8:30 a.m. Santa Misa se oficiará a las 9:00 a.m. en la iglesia católica Mother Cabrini. El sepelio se llevará a cabo en una fecha posterior.
