TRINIDAD ORTIZ

Trinidad Ortiz, 95 passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Ortiz was born in Harlingen, Tx. His family moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he finished high school. When he turned 18 years of age he enlisted at United States Army in 1942. Mr. Ortiz Served in the Army in WWII as 249th  Engineer Combat Battalion and was discharged in 1944. He moved to Laredo, Texas where he raised his family and worked as a general manager in a local retail store.

He is preceded in death by his parents Isaac and Esperanza Arroyo Ortiz. His beloved sons Ramon T. Ortiz and Fernando Ortiz.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Marina G. Ortiz, son, Jose Guadalupe (Sara) Ortiz, Sylvia Ortiz, great grandchildren, Fernando Ortiz Jr., Orlando Ortiz, Jessica Ortiz, Francisco Ortiz, Jossette Ortiz, Guy Barrera, Jose Guadalupe Ortiz Jr., Isaac Ortiz, Jaime Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz, Robert Ortiz, Veronica Ortiz, Ramon Ortiz and numerous nephews, nieces, great grandchildren and great great grandchild and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 06, 2018 departing from the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Presentation of the United States Flag and full military honors were provided by the United States Army. Honor Guard and the military 21 gun salute was provided by the American Legion Post 59 of Laredo, TX., in the Laredo City Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Fernando Ortiz, Jr., Orlando Ortiz, Francisco Ortiz, Guy Barrera, Jaime Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz, Gerardo Martinez and Joe Ortiz.
