VELIA G. DIAZ
Velia G. Diaz, 74, passed away on Wednesday, April 11 , 2018 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Diaz was born in Candela, Coahuila, Mexico and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Carmela C. Gonzalez.
Loving husband who passed away on November 13, 2017, Juan Jose Diaz.
She is survived by her children, Juan Manuel (Lucy Diaz) Diaz, Velia Veronica (Martin) Olivo, Antonio (Sandra) Diaz and Sandra (Samuel Cruz) Diaz.
Grandchildren, Jesus Martin Olivo, Marvin Olivo, Alan Giovanni Olivo and Victoria Olivo,
Jesus Diaz, Justin Diaz, Lynette Diaz, Luis Diaz, Jessica Diaz, Jennifer Diaz, Emily Diaz, Jasmine Diaz, Danielo Diaz, Kayla Cruz, Kevin Diaz and Kristina Cruz.
Great-grandchildren, Jaylee Diaz, Derek Diaz, Analy J. Diaz, Juan Diaz and numerous other great-great-grandchildren.
Siblings, Beatriz M. Gonzalez, Oscar Gonzalez, Leonel Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, Arnulfo Gonzalez and Juan Gonzalez.
Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Southside Chapel, Loop 20 and Zapata Hwy.
Funeral services will begin departing at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
