MISS VICTORIA "VICKY" DURAN Miss Victoria "Vicky" Duran passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2013 in a local hospital. She was born in Rosenberg, TX to Leocadio and Pauline Duran and resided there for a good part of her life. Vicky was an educator for over 40 years and taught at several schools in the Rosenberg and Fort Bend County area. When she moved to Laredo she was also employed as an educator, first with the Laredo Independent School District and later with the United Independent School District. At the time of her retirement in 2009, she was teaching at Clark Middle School. Vicky will always be remembered by her fellow educators and her many, many former students as an individual that cared for her students and was dedicated to her profession. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Preceding her in death were her parents, Leocadio and Pauline Duran. Her sister in law, Isabel H. Duran, her half-brother, Antonio Duran and her half-sister, Estela Duran. She is survived by her brother, Gilberto Duran of Rosenberg, TX and her sister, Delia (Lauro) Hernandez of Laredo. Her nephews, Rogelio L. Duran of Rosenberg and Rev. Deacon Hector D. (Ana) Hernandez of Laredo, and by her niece, Miss Laura Hernandez also of Laredo. Her grand nieces, Clarissa A (Rene) Aguirre and Daniella A Hernandez of Laredo. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Mrs. June Dickey and by her loving caretakers, Lupita Alfaro, Lourdes Dominguez, Beatriz Uvalle, Irma Martinez and Socorro Hernandez as well as other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 05, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Vigil of the Deceased held at 6:30 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Avenue. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 06, 2013 at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church. There will be no procession from the funeral home and those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the church. Vicky's desire upon her passing was to be buried together with her parents in Rosenberg, Texas. Services are also being held there with visitation on Sunday, April 07, and her committal services on Monday, April 08, 2013. The arrangements in Rosenberg are under the direction of E.P.
