VIRGINIA MARTINEZ Virginia Martinez, 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at a local hospital. Mrs. Martinez was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and had lived in Laredo, Texas most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Martinez. Sister and Brothers: Saul Mata, Margarita Mata and Miguel Mata. She is survived by her children, Margaret Martinez, Jose Arturo Martinez, Ramiro Martinez and Antonio Martinez. Her 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Teresa Cardenas, Ofelia Moncada, Ricardo Mata, Javier Mata and Jose Luis Mata. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapel, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m on Saturday, March 15, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.
